History
Wee People Preschool was founded in 1963 by former Huron resident and Christ Church member, Dee Brown. The school was established to fill a community need while taking advantage of the new education wing added to historic Christ Church in 1963.
In 1992 the privately owned school was sold to Saundra Dolbeer, a teacher at the school since 1973, and also a member of Christ Church. Under her ownership and direction, Wee People celebrated its 44th year of operation in September 2007, making it the oldest continuously operating preschool in Huron.
After teaching at Wee People for 34, the past 16 as owner, Saundra made a gift transfer of the school to the Christ Church Anglican Fellowship Foundation on December 21, 2007. Wee People has provided a positive, stimulating introduction to education in a caring environment of Christian values to three generations of children in the community. The new leadership looks forward to continuing this important tradition.
